Clemson University Libraries invites candidates for a tenure-track Scholarly Communications Librarian. The Scholarly Communications Librarian will collaborate closely with librarians, faculty, students, and other academic units to lead and facilitate efforts related to scholarly communications. The incumbent will support new models of research and scholarship by providing and managing innovative digital tools and publishing platforms for content creation, delivery, discovery, and analysis. This position also supports faculty and students in the areas of copyright and intellectual property. Library faculty are members of the academic community, with responsibilities in the areas of librarianship, scholarship, and service. The incumbent is accountable to the Head of Library Technology.
Responsibilities include:
Librarianship, Instruction, and Outreach
· Serves as an advocate for new forms and practices of scholarly communications on campus and in the broader academic community.
· Integrates scholarly communications into library instruction and departmental liaison activities. Develops instructional resources and workshops. Provides guidance to library staff regarding scholarly communication and coordinates with subject specialists to broaden the understanding of scholarly communication issues.
· Serves as a campus resource on issues and trends relevant to intellectual property, copyright, fair use, author rights, open access, and metrics for assessing impact of scholarly works.
· Leads the Libraries’ institutional repository initiatives through solicitation of content from students and faculty, including deposits of journal articles, conference proceedings, and other published and unpublished research.
· Oversees scholarly publishing services, including promotion and adoption of ORCIDs and DOIs, collaboration with the Clemson University Press, and managing open access journals. Manages the Libraries’ Open Access Publishing Fund Program.
· Collaborates with the Open Resources Librarian to promote open educational resources (OER) and affordable learning initiatives to the campus community.

· Develops a focused program of high-quality research and creative accomplishments, consistent with professional responsibilities and the Libraries’ mission and goals.

· An ALA-accredited graduate degree in librarianship or a relevant accredited graduate degree in another scholarly field as deemed appropriate by the Libraries.

Salary and Benefits
Faculty rank and competitive salary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. The salary range is $68,000-$70,000. Various medical plans, dental plans, and retirement plans are available. 18 days annual leave, 15 days sick leave, 13 paid holidays, and liberal professional development leave are provided. Library faculty receive an individual stipend for travel or other professional development activity.

The Wayne State University Library System (WSULS) seeks an innovative, service-oriented Publishing Librarian (I/II/III) to advance the University’s mission to create and advance knowledge, prepare a diverse student body to thrive, and positively impact local and global communities. Position Description:
The Publishing Librarian works within the DSU under the supervision of the Assistant Dean. Located in WSULS’s developing organizational unit called the Publishing House, which is a pedagogically focused publishing center in the Libraries, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with students, faculty, librarians, and the broader community to conceive, enact, advance, and sustain digital library-centered publishing and scholarship. This position has broad latitude to collaborate with partners in and outside the university to pursue advancements in areas including but not limited to publishing workflows and competencies, digital publishing platforms, publishing pedagogy, digital humanities, and digital collections.
Early opportunities will include contributing to the implementation phases of the Vega publishing system, the establishment of the Publishing House, and collaboration with the Michigan Digital Publishing group–a coalition of publishing thought-leaders at state universities in the Michigan Research Corridor.
Essential Job Functions:

The Publishing and Repository Services Librarian leads The Ohio State University Libraries program for innovative and sustainable publishing and repository services to support scholarly content creation and stewardship. This tenure-track faculty position provides operational, tactical, and strategic leadership for the Libraries Open Access digital publishing and institutional repository services and initiatives. The Publishing and Repository Services Librarian builds new capacity, publishing partnerships, and services and sustains existing, successful initiatives. This work will include accelerating campus partnerships, advancing the Libraries publishing program, and guiding the continued growth of Ohio State’s institutional repository, the Knowledge Bank.
The Ohio State University Libraries currently publishes and hosts fifteen Open Access journals, archives the research and scholarship of more than 100 campus partners, and promotes the open sharing of scholarly works created by Ohio State faculty, staff, and students. As a member of the Scholarly Sharing Program Area’s leadership team, the Publishing and Repository Services Librarian reports to the Scholarly Sharing Strategist and helps support new models for the dissemination of research, scholarship, and creative expression in alignment with the Libraries strategic directions. The Publishing and Repository Services unit currently includes three staff members and .5 FTE students. Publishing and Repository Services works in close collaboration with Copyright Services, the Libraries’ Research Commons, Libraries IT, and subject specialists. Campus partners include the university press and an affordable textbook publishing program managed by the OCIO.

Key Responsibilities

OU Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to serve as the Open Education Coordinator. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of open educational resources (OER), open licensing, open pedagogy, and the landscape in which these open-enabled domains reside. This position develops strategies for increasing the use of OER and alternative textbook and course material solutions at the University of Oklahoma by leading, planning, implementing, and assessing OU’s Open Education programs and services in support of OU’s goal to reduce the cost of attendance for its students. The Copyright and Scholarly Communications Manager is a vital member of the Digital Scholarship and Special Collections unit of University Libraries and provides innovative leadership in the development and advancement of initiatives and programs related to scholarly communications, open access publishing, copyright compliance, and fair use. This position is a key member of the newly-formed University Libraries Office of Digital Research and Publishing and will facilitate collaborative opportunities, workshops and instructions, consultative services and technology solutions that promote the creation, dissemination, and preservation of high-quality online scholarship at Ball State University.
The Ball State University Libraries includes Bracken Library, in the center of campus, and two branches – the Architecture Library and the Science-Health Science Library. The Libraries, which welcomes approximately 1.5 million visitors annually, contains over 1.1 million titles and has created a dynamic, globalized setting for learning and research with access to nearly 300 electronic databases and additional electronic subscriptions to expand point-and-click access to scholarly resources. As a senior level applications programmer in the Publishing & Special Collections group at the California Digital Library, this position is responsible for the technical architecture, operations, and continued evolution of a publication management system in support of the University of California’s Open Access (OA) policies. The current system, comprised of a research information management system (Symplectic Elements) and an institutional repository (eScholarship), supports faculty participation in the UC Academic Senate OA policy. This year, the system will be expanded to implement the UC Presidential OA Policy, which covers all UC employees across the institution’s ten campuses. The incumbent will primarily serve as the technical lead for this project as it grows to its new scale, but specific responsibilities are likely to evolve over time.
The California Digital Library (CDL) is a collaborative effort of the ten campuses of the University of California. As a UC systemwide library, CDL provides services to and on behalf of the UC system in partnership with the UC campus libraries. As a globally-connected digital library, CDL occupies a unique position between the local UC campuses and the global digital library infrastructure. The Public Knowledge Project (PKP) is seeking expressions of interest for a full-time or part-time Project Assistant. This is a student position suitable for a student in a Master of Library and Information Studies program, a Master of Publishing program, or another related post-secondary field.
To qualify for this position you must be a current student in a post-secondary program and continuing full-time or part-time studies in September, 2019.

Working arrangements
This position offers a flexible working arrangement with the ability to work remotely. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to work independently under limited supervision.

$24 – $26 / hr CAD, depending on experience.
